Engaged in dog training since 1975.
Many times Russia's champion in the national kinds of dog training. Since 1978, coaches teams of sportsmen–trainers. His trainees have repeatedly become Russia's champions in agility, skijoring, obedience and national kinds of training in personal and team competitions.
In 1994, began to work with agility.
In 2002, M. Kirillov headed the Russia's national agility team. Over eight years the team has won 17 prizes at world championships, including 7 top prizes.
